PianoJam is always looking for good musicians, and even sound engineers and roadies.
Piano Vocalists
You need to have a high standard in the following areas:
- Piano playing - all popular styles
- Singing - good stamina and ability to belt
- Left hand bass - not just piano octaves on the bass keyboard! :-)
- Professionalism - lateness & consumption of alcohol during work hours are not permitted
We need pianists on an ongoing basis. If you are coming from outside Holland, the minimum contract time is normally 2 weeks. Accommodation and travel are provided. For the duelling piano gigs, you only need a decent set of in-ear monitors; for the pianobar gigs, you need your own drum machine and left-hand bass. Backing tracks are not permitted.
The most important element of the gig is to be entertaining! The core repertoire is available here. You don't need to know all of the songs, but you will struggle in Holland if you don't know around half. Obviously, you don't need to know the Dutch songs, but we'll be impressed if you do!

Drummers
Drummers should normally be based in the Netherlands and have their own car / motorbike. You should be versed in all popular styles:
- rock
- pop
- reggae
- ballad
- funk
- swing / jazz
- shuffle
- disco
- etc
You do not need to have your own drum kit, but you always need to bring your own sticks. You should be used to playing according to conditions: that means not always playing as loud as possible! Additionally, the ability to follow the improvisations of the pianists is extremely important: piano entertainment is not necessarily about playing every song exactly as the original, and this takes a lot of concentration.
Of course, professionalism is important, but we would also name an equally important attribute: being a team player. PianoJam is a team of great musicians, and great guys and gals, and we need people who fit in.
